Custom Ceiling Install & Romantic Draping in New York

Renowned Event Designs partnered with the talented team at Cue the Details, the challenge was to bring a cohesive, elevated event design to life within Canoe Place Inn. Through thoughtful design, strategic draping, and intentional details, every environment felt unique while contributing to one cohesive design story.

The challenge

The reception space presented a unique set of design and production challenges. The client envisioned a large-scale, custom ceiling installation in a venue without traditional rigging capabilities, requiring our team to approach the design with creative problem-solving and innovative installation solutions. Beyond the technical considerations, the goal was to create something truly one of a kind. We also had to thoughtfully work with the room’s existing architecture, shape, and natural color palette to ensure the final design complemented the space while making a bold visual statement.

Solution

To bring the client’s vision to life, our team handcrafted every individual petal of a 12' x 12' custom floral installation, creating a one-of-a-kind statement piece. To overcome the venue’s rigging limitations, we collaborated closely with the venue team to develop a creative solution for safely suspending the custom installation. We further transformed the space with warm taupe draping, softening the existing color palette while redefining the room’s shape and creating a more intimate, cohesive atmosphere.

The reception design embraced understated luxury, blending warm taupe draping, soft candlelight, and lush white florals to create an intimate, elevated atmosphere.

To extend the cohesive design beyond the reception, Renowned Event Designs created a custom draped backdrop for the photo booth area. Layers of soft taupe fabric added warmth, texture, and depth, creating an elegant setting for guest portraits and candid moments. The flowing draping complemented the wedding’s overall design aesthetic while providing a refined, photo-ready backdrop that felt seamlessly integrated into the celebration.

The custom 12' x 12' floral ceiling installation, meticulously handcrafted petal by petal, created a striking focal point and showcased Renowned Event Designs’ expertise in custom event fabrication and luxury wedding design.

Here’s a look at the before and after of the space!

The most memorable event designs aren't built around a single statement piece, they are created when every design element works together to tell the same story.

Huge Shoutout to all the vendors
